Language config

Language config

In the JudoManager database, we store local given and local family names (all localized characters are allowed). We also store international names in a separate column - only international characters are allowed.

* Please note: Hebrew names in the example are fictional and its only purpose is to demonstrate the functionality.

Language config allows you to choose which name you want to show in the application, on the scoreboard, contest order and so on. All countries with registered athletes will be listed. You can change the way the names are displayed for each country.

Display names is a global setting - you can choose between Local or International. This sets the Default option for each country.

For each country, you can then choose between Default (takes from global), Local or International.

Let's look at an example:
We have three athletes with local names in Hebrew. In many countries, these letters are hard to read and understand.

In a global setting, we have the default option "Local" selected. If we want to display the names of the Israeli athletes in the international format we can change display setting of Israel to "International".

This change effects how names are displayed throughout the application, for example, in the Accreditation section.
