Working with referees

The contest order section is also responsible for referee draw and distribution to each contest. Basic referee operations like adding or modifying referees are already cowered in the Referees menu article.

Referee view

In the referee view, you can see additional info. Every individual fight has a place for the main referee and two side referees. You can either:
  1. draw all from the draw action menu
  2. drag and drop individual referees

Using draw action "Draw all" will draw referees automatically, trying to distribute referees evenly so each is assigned main referee and side referee the same number of times, all the while respecting the referee avoidance type option set in the Competition section - Referees. The referees will be assigned to all fights with known athletes until the first fight with Waiting for opponent label. If the Auto draw referees is enabled, every new fight with two available competitors will have referees drawn automatically. If needed you can always overrule the algorithm by manually dragging & dropping in another referee.

If you don't have enough referees for a successful draw on a specific mat (tatami) you will be presented with an error: Referee draw error. Not enough referees. You will also see the same error if your referee avoidance type makes the draw impossible. To solve this issue, add additional referees to the mat or change referee avoidance type.

Printing contests with referees is available in the Print command group. You can also multi-select some fight - and click on the print button.

All contests that we have already printed are labeled with letter P:
