Quick Guide: National Event Operations

Configure the local presentation, monitor automatic graphics and operate manual event graphics.

OPERATOR ROLE: Configure the event appearance before going live. During contests, monitor the system and intervene only when necessary.

Before going live

  1. CasparCG Server and CGplay are running.
  2. ONLINE and UDP ENABLED are green.
  3. Mat nr. matches the physical tatami.
  4. Automatic options for MAIN SB, REFEREE, INTRO and WINNER are enabled.
  5. The correct competitors, score and contest time are displayed.
  6. A complete test contest is visible in the video mixer.

Configure the event appearance

Alert
BEFORE THE BROADCAST: Complete and test shared settings before going live. All CGplay instances on the same computer use the same data.ini file.
  1. Click SHOW SETTINGS/DEBUG and open Settings.
  2. Select the competitor-name format and Main template format.
  3. Select the country, club, region, team, school or province logo.
  4. Verify the competition name.
  5. Enter the watermark filename when required. Store the image in C:\CG\media\.
  6. Click Save Setting and restart CGplay or use Reload all setting when required.
  7. Display a test graphic and verify the appearance.

During a contest

  1. Monitor ONLINE and UDP ENABLED.
  2. Allow the automatic sequences to control the main scoreboard, introduction, referee and winner graphics.
  3. Do not correct scores in CGplay. The table official must correct the Scoreboard data.
  4. For a medical intervention, click DOCTOR. It may also be activated from the official Scoreboard.
  5. Use WATERMARK for an event or sponsor graphic. auto on first/last template can hide it during the active contest.

Custom text

  1. Open the Manual CG tab.
  2. Enter the text in a SINGLE LINE or DUAL LINE field.
  3. Verify the spelling and line breaks.
  4. Click the adjacent ONAIR button.

Recovery during a live contest

STATUS / PROBLEM

CHECK

Wrong or stuck graphic

If CGplay responds, click CLEAR ON AIR and retrigger the required graphic.

CGplay freezes

Restart CGplay and confirm that ONLINE and UDP ENABLED return to green.

Contest data missing

Check JudoNet, the sender filter and the UDP broadcast.

Data but no output

Check CasparCG Server and the NDI or SDI input on the video mixer.

Detailed diagnostics: Troubleshooting

Medal ceremonies

  1. Open Manual CG and click Get weights in the MEDALISTS section.
  2. Select the category and click Get medalists for selected weight.
  3. Verify the medalists and select the required Team name, Extra Show and Logo options.
  4. Enter the competition name. Use a semicolon (;) for a two-line title.
  5. Click MEDALISTS. For one athlete, use SELECTED MEDALIST.
