Quick Guide: System Setup and Pre-Event Test

Prepare, connect and verify the Judo Graphics (CG) system before competition day.
Alert
Complete the detailed installation procedure first. This guide covers the essential preparation and final system test.
Info
Judo Graphics are available in two versions: IJF Events and National Events. After setup, continue with the corresponding Quick Guide and Operator Handbook.

Before you begin

  1. The Graphics PC meets the published hardware requirements and is connected to mains power.
  2. The production network uses wired Gigabit Ethernet.
  3. The Windows network profile is Private and display scaling is 100%.
  4. Windows updates are paused for the event; VPN software and unused network adapters are disabled.
  5. CGplay, CasparCG Server and the correct templates are installed.
  6. NDI Tools are installed when using NDI output.
Info
INTERNET: JudoManager and JudoNet require internet access for normal operation. At IJF events, the Graphics PC also requires internet access for JudoBase cloud data. Essential CG traffic runs on your local LAN.

Complete the one-time installation

  1. Install CasparCG Server, CGplay and the templates in the required C:\CG folders.
  2. Complete the Flash installation using only the installer supplied with Judo Graphics.
  3. Start CGplay and activate the licence using the supplied product code.
  4. Use the supplied casparcg.config, which is preconfigured for NDI with one output channel per mat. Contact JudoManager Support if SDI output is required.
  5. Confirm that the configured resolution and frame rate match the video production system.
  6. Create or verify one CGplay shortcut or instance for every mat.

Configure JudoNet

  1. Select the active event under JudoManager Servers.
  2. Under UDP Send Interfaces, select the Ethernet adapter connected to the event LAN.
  3. Turn the selected interface on. Its indicator must be green.
  4. Enable Broadcast UDP to Graphics.
  5. Confirm that the active Scoreboard connection is green.

Configure CGplay

National Events

  1. Open SHOW SETTINGS/DEBUG and select the Settings tab.
  2. Select or enter the JudoManager Server address.
  3. Enter the JudoNet PC address under JN sender filter IP.
  4. Verify the competition name and click Save Setting.

IJF Events

Use the supplied IJF configuration and confirm that the Graphics PC has internet access for JudoBase features.

Start the system

  1. Network switch and router
  2. JudoManager Server
  3. Scoreboard computers and JudoNet
  4. CasparCG Server
  5. CGplay for each mat
  6. Video mixer and streaming service
Info
READY STATUS: IJF: ONLINE and UDP ONLINE are green. National: ONLINE and UDP ENABLED are green. In both versions, mat number must match the physical mat.

Run a complete test

  1. Start a test contest on the Scoreboard and change the contest time or score.
  2. Confirm that JudoNet receives the data and CGplay shows the correct competitors, score and time.
  3. Trigger the main scoreboard graphic.
  4. For NDI, verify the output in NDI Studio Monitor on the Graphics PC and in vMix or OBS on the Video Mixer PC.
  5. Confirm that the mat number, output resolution and frame rate are correct.

Quick fault check
