Display Patterns – Customizing Athlete Display in Live Modules

Display Patterns – Customizing Athlete Display in Live Modules

Display Patterns allow you to control how athlete information is shown in all live and visual modules of JudoManager.
Unlike Report Patterns, which affect printed/exported documents, Display Patterns are used exclusively for real-time display during competitions.

1. Where Display Patterns are Used
Display patterns affect the following modules:
  1. Scoreboard
  2. Contest Order
  3. Draw Display
  4. Coach Assistant
  5. Portal.judomanager.com (live contest pages)
These modules display athlete data to the audience, coaches, referees, and staff during the competition, so the formatting can be adjusted to your federation's visual standards.

2. How to Access Display Patterns
  1. Open JudoManager Desktop
  2. Click on the Data tab
  3. Select Display Patterns

3. Athlete Description for Web and Other Modules

In the display Patterns window, look for the section:
Athlete description for web and other modules (scoreboard, contest order etc.

This setting determines how athlete data is displayed in every live module, including scoreboards and the online portal.

4. Creating Your Own Display Pattern

If you want to create a custom display:
1. On the right side of the windows, under Test data, you will find all available placeholders, including:

Text placeholders:
  1. {country_short}
  2. {province_short}/{province_long}
  3. {region_short}/{region_long}
  4. {school}
  5. {club}
Image placeholders:
  1. {country_image}
  2. {province_image}
  3. {region_image}
  4. {club_image}
  5. {school_image}
2. Double-click any placeholder to add it to your pattern
3. Combine placeholders in any order to create the desired format
4. The preview will update instantly, showing how it looks with actual event data.

Example:
{country_image} {country_short} {club_image} {club} {region_long}

5. Why Display Patterns Are Important
  1. Every federation has its own visual standards
  2. Some want to show club logos, others prefer coutry flags
  3. International events often prefer country-firs formatting
  4. Regional events may use province/region information
  5. Scoreboards and contest list become visually unified
  6. Online portal displays the same thlete format as the local modules
6. Saving your Display Pattern
When your patterns is ready, click Save
Your choosen format will now appear consistently across all live modules.

7. Module-Specific Patterns (Manual Patterns in Each Module)
In addition to the global Display Pattern settings, every live module in JudoManager also includes its own Manual Pattern option. This meands that each module can display athlete information differently, allowing complete flexibility for organizers.

Modules that support their own pattern configuration:
  1. Scoreboard Display
  2. Contest Order
  3. Draw Display
  4. Coach Assistant
8. Important Notes
Info
  1. Display Patterns support images (flags, logos, icons)
  2. If an image is missing in your database, the placegolder will simply display nothing
  3. Display Patterns do not affect printed reports - those are handled separately
  4. If no pattern is selected, JudoManager applies default settings depending on the competition level.
